The Best Of The Paris Motor Show

The Paris Motor Show (Mondial de l’Automobile) is a biennial motor show held around the month of October. This year it takes place between 1st-16th October at the Paris expo Porte de Versailles. It is also the biggest in the World, which makes it the perfect place for car makers to launch their newest cars. These are the cars you will eventually be able to get on a UK car leasing deal once they have been launched.

Audi RS3 Saloon returns

After 6 long years, the Audi RS3 Saloon is returning to us. This new RS3 will come with a 2.5-litre TFSI engine that has been taken from the Audi TT RS. Audi aim for the engine to produce 394 bhp combined with four-wheel drive and a seven-speed duel-clutch automatic gearbox.

The RS3 Saloon is claimed to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds and it is electronically limited to top out at 155 mph. If you do fancy it derestricted, the Audi will do it and it will max out at 174 mph. Audi have also designed it to look muscular thanks to flared arches, a wider track, new diffusers, a fixed spoilers and large tailpipes.

BMW X2 Concept revealed

BMW has revealed its attempt at a small, affordable crossover SUV with the X2. The exterior design is a low-roofed, smoother and more rounded than some of its bigger siblings, the X4/X6. The BMW X2 has no technical details as of yet and is simply a study in design.

Honda Civic Type R ready to fight

This year, we saw Ford release the beast that is the Focus RS and it killed it. The RS was cheered and praised by critics and fans alike. Ford’s closest rival, Honda are coming out fighting with the new Honda Civic Type R being launched in 2017. This Civic Type R will be based on the tenth-generation Civic hatchback and will be sold in North America for the first time.

It has a mean, sporty look with a triple-exit exhaust system, carbon fibre diffusers and 20-in wheels. Under the bonnet, Honda have inserted a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, powering out 340 bhp – an additional 34 bhp on top of the current Type R. Given this is a prototype model, there are no further technical details.

The new Discovery

Land Rover have announced the new 5th generation Discovery. The Land Rover Discovery 5 will have a 480 kg reduction in weight and a new version of the 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine. The new version develops 237 bhp. With that power the Discovery SD4 model can hit 0-60 mph in 8.3 seconds. Other models include a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 engine producing 253 bhp, which improves the 0-60 mph in 8.1 seconds. Third model is a 3.0-litre supercharged petrol V6 developing 335 bhp. It can hit 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds.

It also has a class-leading towing capacity of 3.5-tonne. There is a 65% increase in cabin storage and great amount of space for 7 adults. You can also drop the rear seats in increase the boot capacity also.

Nissan Micra – Looking good

Nissan is back with a new Micra. Unlike the previous model that was not well received, the new Micra looks ready to take the fight to its small car rivals. The styling has been upgraded in order to more striking and sharp and it is more technically advanced with upgraded gadgets and features that are in many of its rivals. Engine at launch will come in twos with a third coming later on. The launch editions are a 0.9-litre turbo triple cylinder engine developing 90 bhp and a 1.5-litre diesel 4-cylinder engine with similar power. The engine to come later is the 1.0-litre petrol engine developing 75 bhp.

These are just come of the amazing cars announced at the Paris Motor Show. Other exciting announcements made by the likes of Porsche, Citroen, Ferrari and others. When these cars are launched they will all be available for car leasing. Cars like the Land Rover Discover and the Audi RS3 Saloon will be available on a prestige car leasing agreement. The other cars like the Nissan Micra will be available for you to choose from a selection of cheap lease deals.
